Launching November 2026

Podcast transcript for every episode

Show notes, chapter markers, captions and Monday’s pull quote all start from the transcript. Up to 4 voices get labels, the chapters come drafted, and you begin with the episode’s own words, not a blank page.

Launching November 2026

From finished episode to show notes

When link import is available in your workspace, paste a public Apple Podcasts episode link to transcribe one episode. You can also upload the recording file.

  1. Export the final mix

Upload the file you publish, edits and ad reads in, so transcript times match what listeners hear.

  2. Turn on speaker labels

Switch on Recognize speakers at upload. Rename Speaker 1 and Speaker 2 to host and guest once, and every line follows.

  3. Run the AI summary

One run drafts a summary, timed chapter titles and a few action items. Treat it as a rough cut: rename chapters in your show’s voice and drop what misses.

  4. Clean up names and jargon

Find and replace fixes a guest’s surname or a misheard brand across the whole episode in one pass.

  5. Export for each place it goes

DOCX for the show notes draft, SRT or VTT for the video cut, TXT for a plain transcript page.

Sample chapters
  1. 00:00Cold open and why we moved the studio
  2. 03:42How our guest booked her first tour
  3. 17:15Pricing a live show without losing money
  4. 31:08Listener questions from the mailbag
  5. 44:30What changes next season

We made up those titles to show the shape of the draft. They aren’t output from a real show.

Chapter timestamps for YouTube and podcast apps

YouTube builds chapters from timestamps in the video description. The list must start at 0:00, with at least three chapters of 10 seconds or more.

Check each start time against the transcript, then paste titles and times into the description. Podcast apps differ, so check which chapter format your host accepts.

Transcripts help new listeners find you

A transcript or detailed show notes hand search engines the names, places and questions in an episode, so people searching for your guest or topic can land on it.

You don’t have to post every word. A short summary, the chapter list and a pulled quote or two, with a link to the full text, does the job. Video episodes work the same way (MP4 to transcript). Deaf and hard-of-hearing listeners get the episode too, and so do people who skim.

Hosts, guests and crosstalk

Labels work on one mixed recording, with no track per mic. Up to 4 voices get labels. A fifth voice at the roundtable means two people share one, so reassign those lines or split the episode before upload.

Crosstalk is where labels slip. A guest’s quick “yeah” can land on the host’s line, and one pass with the audio playing catches most of it. Episodes over 3 hours are labeled in 3-hour parts, so a marathon live show may show Speaker 1 (part 2) after the break. More on speaker identification.

What a weekly show costs

Free gives you 3 files a day, each up to 60 minutes and 2 GB, plus 3 AI summaries a day. A short weekly show costs nothing. Longer episodes need an hour pack or a paid plan.

Your showA good fitWhy
One 45-minute episode a weekFreeEach episode fits under the 60-minute cap, and one AI summary covers the chapters too.
Four 90-minute episodes a month20-hour pack, $15About 6 hours a month, so the pack lasts a little over three months, well inside its 12-month expiry.
A daily show or a big back catalogUnlimited, $20 a month (fair use up to 720 hours a month)Up to 50 uploads at a time, bulk ZIP export for the archive, and chat with each episode.

Chat finds where a topic came up and points to the moment. It’s capped at 100 messages a day and isn’t in the hour packs. Every plan and limit sits on one page.

Podcast transcript questions

Can Textspert write my show notes?

It drafts the parts in one click: a summary, timed chapter titles and action items. The final notes are yours to shape. Free includes 3 AI summaries a day; paid plans and hour packs have no daily cap on summaries.

Do I need a separate track for each host?

No. Labels work on one mixed file. Separate tracks work too, but each one becomes its own file with its own transcript.

How do I add chapter timestamps on YouTube?

Paste the chapter list from the AI panel into your video description, starting at 0:00. Click each start time in the transcript first so the chapter opens on the right sentence.

Can I ask questions about an episode?

Yes, on Unlimited. Chat answers from the transcript and links the moments it used, up to 100 messages a day. Hour packs don’t include chat.

What if my episode runs past 60 minutes?

Free stops at 60 minutes per file. An hour pack or a paid plan raises that to 10 hours, so a long live recording still goes up in one piece.

Can my co-host edit the transcript?

Share links are read-only. Send a private link so your co-host can read and play along, or export a DOCX they can mark up and send back.
