A Fireflies alternative for files, not live calls
Fireflies is a meeting assistant first. It joins and records calls, with integrations listed on its pricing page. Uploading a file is a side door, and its help guide gives that door a 150-minute limit. Textspert has no bot; it only does uploads: long files, odd formats, many languages.

What a meeting bot does well
Fireflies is built for sales and customer teams who live on calls. Its bot records meetings. If you record calls in Zoom or Google Meet and need integrations with other apps, Fireflies fits.
Fireflies says it holds SOC 2 Type II and claims GDPR and HIPAA compliance. Textspert makes none of those claims.
Long recordings and the 150-minute cap
Fireflies' help guide caps an uploaded file at 150 minutes on every plan. Fine for a call, too short for a full-day workshop, a conference session recorded straight through, a church service with music or a 4-hour board meeting.
A paid plan or pack takes files of up to 10 hours and 5 GB each, with no splitting. Past 3 hours, speakers are labeled in 3-hour parts, so check the names in each.
Recordings that never were meetings
A bot only hears meetings. Plenty of audio isn’t one: a voice memo from the parking lot, a podcast episode, a lecture on a phone, last Sunday’s sermon. Upload voice memos, WhatsApp notes, video or old archive audio in most formats. You can also record an in-person conversation on the upload page. Voice memo to text covers phones.
Seats versus one account
Fireflies prices its paid plans per seat: Pro is $18 a seat a month, or $10 a seat a month billed yearly, so a team of five pays five times over. On the free plan it will transcribe a recording, but downloading the transcript, summary or recording needs Pro.
We price per account, and colleagues read through private links. For bursts, buy hours once: 20 hours for $15 or 60 hours for $35, good for 12 months.
Languages beyond English
Fireflies lists over 100 transcription languages. Textspert transcribes 100 languages on every plan, detects the spoken language from the first 30 seconds of speech and keeps that language for the file.
Unlimited adds translation into 100+ languages. Languages lists them all.
AI vendors and your data
Fireflies' security page says "We don't train on it by default" and describes a "0-day data retention policy with all vendors and partners". That second line tells you outside vendors are part of how its AI works, though it doesn't name them.
We have no AI vendors to name. Transcription, summaries and chat run on servers we operate, so your audio and transcripts are never sent to any AI company, and we never train on your files.
Where the notes go afterward
Fireflies lists integrations with other apps. Textspert hands you files and links instead, and you decide where they go. That's more manual, and for a sales team logging fifty calls a week it's the wrong trade.
- DOCX or PDF to read or print.
- SRT or VTT for YouTube, Vimeo or a course site.
- CSV or JSON, with timings, for a spreadsheet or another program.
- A private share link, with an optional expiry.
Unlimited bundles up to 50 transcripts into one ZIP. Meeting transcription shows where Zoom, Teams and Meet save recordings.
