Transcribe Spanish audio to text
Upload Spanish audio or video and get a Spanish transcript with speaker labels and timestamps. On Unlimited (fair use up to 720 hours a month), add an English version that lines up with the original.
Spanish audio to Spanish text
Spanish runs on Parakeet, the model we use for European languages, and detection picks it up on its own in most recordings. If your file opens with English small talk before the Spanish starts, choose Español on the upload page so detection doesn’t lock onto the wrong language.
Accents and punctuation come through as written Spanish: ñ, tildes, ¿ and ¡ included. Speaker labels work the same way they do in English, for up to 4 people per file.
Spanish to English transcription
With Transcribe to English on, you get the Spanish transcript first, then an English translation made segment by segment. The English keeps the same timestamps and speaker labels, so you can click an English line and hear the Spanish it came from. This is part of Unlimited.
- Speaker 1: Empezamos el proyecto en marzo, con dos personas.
- Speaker 1: We started the project in March, with two people.
- Speaker 2: ¿Y cuándo llegó el resto del equipo?
- Speaker 2: And when did the rest of the team arrive?
Machine translation can miss idioms and tone. If a quote will be published, check the English against the Spanish audio before you use it.

Spanish files, lengths and exports
Upload Spanish audio or video in any common format: MP3, M4A, WAV, MP4, MOV and WhatsApp voice notes all work. On Free, each file can run up to 60 minutes. Paid plans and hour packs take recordings up to 10 hours, which covers a full day of interviews in one upload.
Export the Spanish transcript as DOCX or PDF for reading, SRT or VTT for subtitles, or CSV if you’re coding interviews in a spreadsheet. The video to text page has more on video files.
Getting a cleaner Spanish transcript
- Pick Spanish yourself for clips under a minute.
- Keep music low under speech; background songs with Spanish lyrics confuse every model.
- After the first pass, use find and replace for surnames and brand names.
- Use speaker labels for interviews, then rename Speaker 1 and Speaker 2 once.
Spanish transcription questions
Can I get an English transcript of Spanish audio?
Yes, on Unlimited. Turn on Transcribe to English when you upload, and the English text keeps the same timestamps and speakers.
Do I have to tell Textspert the file is Spanish?
No. Detection uses the first 30 seconds of speech. Choosing Spanish yourself helps when the recording starts in another language.
Does the Free plan transcribe Spanish?
Yes. Spanish transcription works on Free: 3 files a day, each up to 60 minutes. The English version needs Unlimited.
Can I translate a Spanish transcript into French or German?
Yes. On Unlimited, translate a finished transcript into any of the 100+ languages on the translation list. The English option at upload is the one that keeps timestamps lined up.
Will it handle Spanish from Mexico, Spain and Argentina?
It transcribes all of them as Spanish. Regional slang and fast speech may need more hand correction, so listen to anything you plan to quote.
Which other languages are supported?
We transcribe 100 languages. The languages page lists all of them.
